Brian P. Lehpamer, MD
"I am very fortunate to have found a calling in ophthalmology. My work as a vitreoretinal specialist allows me to make a tremendous positive impact on patients' lives while doing something I truly enjoy. Every day brings new and interesting challenges and opportunities."
Dr. Lehpamer completed a two-year fellowship in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous at Baylor College of Medicine and the Texas Medical Center in Houston. He completed his residency at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he also obtained his M.D. and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, and is a Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown University.
Dr. Lehpamer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, has presented his research at national and international meetings, and published peer-reviewed research articles in the American Journal of Ophthalmology and Retina. His areas of interest include all types of diseases affecting the retina and macula, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema, retinal vein occlusions, macular holes, macular pucker (epiretinal membranes), and retinal tears and detachments.
"Patients often tell me that problems with their vision and eyes can be particularly frightening and, at times, difficult to understand due to complex medical terminology. At the end of the day, I want every patient I see to leave the office knowing that I have listened closely to them and done everything I can to answer their questions and correct the underlying problem."
“So grateful to Dr. Lehpamer and the staff at NC Retina Associates.”— NC Retina Patient Review
