Scleral Buckle
Scleral buckle surgery is a procedure that is used in the repair of a detached retina by holding the retina in place against the back of the eye. This is done using a thin silicone band wrapped around the sclera (the white part of the eye). The sclera pushes against the retina so that it re-attaches to its rightful place on the back wall.
